Description
English: Grave goods from a Germanic woman's burial - Grave 2 of the grave field Fenéki Street at Keszthely-Fenékpuszta

This burial ground comprising ten graves is situated to the north of the late Roman fortress of Keszthely-Fenékpuszta. Corpses were interred in individual, narrow burial holes. The actual holes were covered with wooden boards. In addition, there were some interments in tree trunk coffins.

Grave 2
Burial of a 16- to 18-year-old woman. The finds, which lay scattered in the fill dirt, are counted among the most unusual goldsmith works of 6th-century Pannonia. They presumably date to the period after 568, when the Lombards departed for Italy. They are nonetheless undoubtedly of Germanic origin.
Grab 2
1. Two pear-shaped pendants of gold. The front sides are decorated in cloisonné manner (compartments with inlays). The compartments are filled with almandines as well as blue and green glass inlays on thin-walled cloisons of gold foil.
2. 15 sheet gold pendants shaped from late Roman gold coins (five solidi of Constans, ten solidi of Constantine II).
3. Massive finger ring with an oval top plate in which an intaglio is set.
4. Receptacle made of stag's antler plates in the form of a decagon.

Der zehn Gräber umfassende Bestattungsplatz liegt nördlich der spätrömischen Festung von Keszthely-Fenékpuszta. Es handelt sich um Bestattungen mit abgesetzten Grabgruben. Die eigentliche enge Grabgrube wurde mit Holzbrettern bedeckt. Daneben kommen jedoch auch Bestattungen in Baumsärgen vor.

Grab 2
Bestattung einer 16 bis 18 Jahre alten Frau. Die Funde, die zerstreut in der Grabverfüllung lagen, zählen zu den außergewöhnlichsten Goldschmiedearbeiten des 6. Jahrhunderts in Pannonien. Vermutlich datieren sie bereits in die Zeit nach 568, dem Zeitpunkt der Abwanderung der Langobarden nach Italien. Sie sind aber zweifelsfrei germanischen Ursprungs.

1. Zwei goldene, birnenförmige Anhänger. Die Vorderseiten sind in Cloisonné-Technik (Zellwerk mit Einlagen) verziert. Die Zellen sind mit Almandinen sowie blauen und grünen Glaseinlagen auf fein gewaffelter Goldfolie gefüllt.
2. 15 Goldblechanhänger, die aus spätrömischen Goldmünzen (fünf Solidi des Constans, zehn Solidi des Constantinus II.) geprägt sind.
3. Massiver Goldfingerring mit ovaler Kopfplatte, in die eine Gemme eingefasst ist.
4. Aus Hirschgeweihplättchen hergestellter Tiegel, der die Form eines Zehnecks aufweist.
