Deutsch: A) Noch kein Kernschatten sondern noch ein Doppelschatten (DS) mit einem kleinen Holzquader (Q) erzeugt, B) zwei Halbschatten (H) und ein Kernschatten (K) durch Doppelbeleuchtung mit zwei Lampen (L), C) zwei Halbschatten (H) und ein Kernschatten (K) durch eine ausgdehnte Lichtquelle (AL) mit einem dünnen Schaschlikstab (S)
Das Experiment ist häufig im Einsatz in einer Lernwerkstatt in Aachen. Mit jüngeren Kindern (ab etwa Klasse 3) dient es zur Beschreibung von Schattenphänomenen und zur Vermittlung von Fachworten. Mit Schülern ab der Klasse 7 wird mit Hilfe eines geraden Eisenstabes die Idee der Strahlenoptik verdeutlicht. Für Schüler der Oberstufe dient der Versuch als Vorgedanke zur Einführung der Wellenoptik (ähnliche Experimente aber dann mit Beugungseffekten). Die Hände im unteren Bildbereich wurden bei der Aufnahme schnell über die zwei Lampen bewegt. Dadurch wurde das blendende Licht der Lampen etwas gedämpft. English: This simple experiment in use at an educational workshop for the age groupe 10 to 20 shows two different but related ways to produce an umbra in the sense of geometric optics. Wikipedia: The umbra is the innermost and darkest part of a shadow, where the light source is completely blocked by the occluding body. The blurred fingers at the bottom of the image demonstrate the duration of the exposure time when taking the photograph. The fingers were wiped over the lights to prevent them from blinding the camera. |
