| Description |
English: Kedleston Hall, near Derby. This is the finest Robert Adam house anywhere in the country as he landscaped it, designed it, furnished it and even specified where all the paintings should go. The totally mad Roman Temple of Zeus entrance hall is only surpassed by the even madder Roman Pantheon reception hall behind it! And the art is fabulous too - 17th century collection of Renaissance and Dutch Golden Age including Rembrandt, Breugel the Elder and Peter Paul Reubens. All set in magnificent grounds. This is what the NT is all about, really. |
