Summary[edit]

Description
English: Krewe du Vieux Carre float in den (warehouse), New Orleans. This was the first New Orleans Mardi Gras parade after Hurricane Katrina, satirizing local conditions. This float, for the Subkrewe "Krewe of CRUDE" entitled "Crude sleeps in the wet spot", includes effigies of wrestling women personifying hurricanes Katrina and Rita on spinning platform, a trashed refrigerator (common sight after the storm), and the character Mr Bill (created by local filmmaker Walter Williams, King of the Parade this year) escaping from his flooded house through the attic with an axe.
