Deutsch: Dieses Bild zeigt den Maju Dega bei Abenddämmerung circa ein Jahr vor seiner Zerstörung durch das Erdbeben am 25.04.2015. Links im Bild sieht man den eingerüsteten Narayan Tempel, der ebenfalls zerstört wurde. Im Hintergrund strahlt der neoklassizistische Teil des Gaddi Baithak (Royal Palace). English: Maju Dega was built in late seventeenth century. Its nine step brick base gives it the size which dominates the skyline of the square. The wooden doorway, pillars, windows and struts are all beautifully carved. There are images of Hindu deities both inseide and outside the shrine.
The eastern side of Gaddi Baithak is closed off by this white neoclassical building. This important European style building was built as a part of the palace by Chandra Shamsher in 1908 during the reign of Prithvi Bir Bikram Shah. |
