English: Karren-weathered limestone in the Cambrian of South Australia.
This outcrop is in a South Australian Lower Cambrian unit called the Wirrapowie Limestone, which consists of a limestone succession having archaeocyathans, trilobites, stromatolites, shell hash horizons, limestone conglomerates/intraclastic limestone breccias, and oncolitic limestones. The small-scale dissolution channels on limestone seen here is a weathering style called karren weathering. Several types are known, all with non-English terms. Channels having sharp ridges between are called "rillenkarren".
