Description
Deutsch: Statue des heiligen Castor auf dem St.-Castor-Brunnen vor der ehemaligen Stiftskirche in Karden. An gleicher Stelle wie der Brunnen stand ein am 30. Juli 1922 eingeweihtes und im Mai 1958 demontiertes Kriegerdenkmal. Die Statue wurde danach in den ehemaligen Kreuzganggarten verbracht. (Quelle: Gustav Klering: 120 Jahre Kardener Geschichte. Gabriele Klein Verlag, Köln 1993, ISBN 3-926135--22-0, S. 130.) Der heutige Brunnen wurde am 2. Oktober 1994 eingeweiht, wieder mit der von dem Bildhauer Helwegen aus Koblenz-Moselweiß geschaffenen Statue. (Quelle: Oswald Hennes: En Koarde ess et schiejn. Treis-Karden, 2000.) Der vollständige Name des Bildhauers ist wahrscheinlich Heinrich Josef (genannt Henri) Helwegen (* 9. Mai 1883 in Roermond, † 13. Mai 1956 in Koblenz).
