Description
English: Unveiling of a monument in the Ekō-Temple (Ekō-in) commemorating a dissection conducted at the execution ground Kozukahara and observed by the physicians Maeno Ryōtaku, Sugita Gempaku, and Nakagawa Jun'an in 1771, who later published the "New Book on Anatomie" (Kaitai Shinsho). The ceremony was organized by leading members of the Japanese Society for the History of Medicine (Nihon Ishi-gakkai). The photo was shortly after published in the monthly Rekishi shashin (No. 109, 1 Aug. 1922).
Deutsch: Feierliche Enthüllung eines Reliefsteins zum Gedenken an die Sektion eines menschlichen Leichnams im Jahre 1771, die durch die Ärzte Maeno Ryōtaku, Sugita Gempaku, and Nakagawa Jun'an in 1771 bebachtet wurde und zur Übersetzung und Publikation des bahnbrechenden "Neues Buch der Anatomie" (Kaitai Shinsho) führte. Vorgenommen durch führende Mitglieder der Japanischen Gesellschaft für Medizingeschichte (Nihon Ishi-gakkai) am 2. Juli 1922.
