| Description |
Deutsch: Kalksteinbruch der Hohenlimburger Kalkwerke GmbH im Hagener Stadtteil Hohenlimburg, Aussichtspunkt am Steltenberg. Der Steinbruch liegt am Nordrand eines Massenkalkvorkommens das vor etwa 380 Millionen Jahren im höheren Mitteldevon (Givet-Stufe) gebildet wude. Aus dem ehemaligen großen Korallenriff werden Kalk und Dolomitsteine abgebaut. Stellenweise treten Karstschlotten auf, die mit jüngeren Sedimenten gefüllt sind, wie Sande, Schliffe, Tone, Grünsand und Quarzkiese. Der abgebildete Bereich liegt im Landschaftsschutzgebiet „Steltenberg, Oege“. |
