Summary
[edit]DescriptionKala Dera Temple, Thalora Manwal, J&K 017.jpg |
English: The Kala Dera group of temples – sometimes identified as Kala Dera I and Kala Dera II – are one of four historic sites around Thalora, Udhampur district. These 10th to 11th-century Hindu temples sit on a high jagati (platform), have a pillared mandapa, antarala and garbhagriya. Both the mandapa and the sanctum have square plans. The doorjambs and lalatabimba are profusely carved. The two versions of Nataraja are notable in this Shiva complex. The complex has been restored with a plastered wall to stabilize the structures. |
