English: This is the transliteration of the word "Koupalu" in Meitei/Meetei/Manipuri script. "Koupalu" is an Ancient Meitei/Meetei/Manipuri name of the God who protects the North-Western direction in Meitei mythology and religion (Sanamahism/Lainingthou religion). In modern form, the word "Koupalu" evolved into "Koubaru" and then further into "Koubru".
