Summary[edit]
DescriptionJulie Carpenter.jpg |
English: Julie Carpenter is a cultural scholar known for her work in human behavior with emerging technologies, and holds a PhD from the University of Washington in Seattle. Most notably, she has contributed to the field of human-robot interaction in militarized spaces and authored a book about soldier social interactions with robots in the field. Because her research focus is on human attachment in different forms, she has also published about people who have affection for and express a humanlike love for robots. Carpenter is also known for her recent work with Vice-Copenhagen in the research and development of Q, the world’s first genderless voice for use with technology, a 2019 Lions award-winning project at Cannes.
She has also contributed to the growing body of ethics and AI and was named one of "100 women in ai ethics to follow in 2019" list. Carpenter is a Research Scientist in Accenture's Digital Experiences Lab and a Research Fellow for the Ethics and Emerging Sciences group at California Polytechnic State University. https://www.jgcarpenter.com |
