Summary[edit]

Description
English: Anti-Jewish sculpture of a "Judensau" (German for "Jews' sow") at the St. Sebaldus Church in Nuremberg. It shows a big sow, with two jews hanging on the teats. A third jew is feeding the sow on the left side, a fourth one is collecting the excrements on the right (not visible). The sculpture was made in the 1380s and is placed at a height of about 7 meters on the church. Seen from the Rathausplatz.
Deutsch: Judenfeindliche Bauplastik einer "Judensau" am Ostchor der Sebalduskirche in Nürnberg. Dargestellt ist eine Sau, an deren Zitzen zwei Juden saugen (bei der linken Figur ist ein jüdischer Spitzhut erkennbar), während ein Dritter der Sau eine Fressschale vor den Mund hält und ein Vierter die Exkremente der Sau mit einem Topf auffängt (im Bild nicht sichtbar). Die Plastik stammt aus der Zeit um 1380 und befindet sich an einem Stützpfeiler am Ostchor (Rathausplatz) in ca. sieben Metern Höhe.
