Within these walls the castle rose,as if numberless invisible hands were at work layingstone upon stone. The earth trembled as large hallsexpanded and stood near each other in order. Thetiles on the roof arranged themselves regularly, andbefore noon the weathercock, like a golden maidenwith flying drapery, stood on the pinnacle of thetower.
