. The British and Turkish flags were immediately hoisted together,and the whole was conducted with the greatest precision and regularity. The day was extremely fine, and the whole of the scene, heightened by the reflections, which must have arisen in every breast on the termination ofa glorious campaign, was certainly one of themost pleasing and gratifying, that a soldier can feel. This day crowned our efforts, and gave us the entire possession of Egypt ^.
