This map is an attachment to s:Executive Order 4467 which created the reservation in 1926. It was renamed the Johnston Island National Wildlife Refuge in 1940, and control was transferred to the Navy and eventually the Air Force (who greatly modified the island to build an airstrip), before becoming part of the Pacific Remote Islands National Wildlife Refuge Complex in 2004 (now the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument). | ||||
