Description
English: This photo was taken in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands on 28 July 2010 at Ólavsøka, which is the national holiday of the Faroe Islands. Ólavsøka is held on 28 and 29 July. Some events start even before that. There is usually a concert on 27 July. The smack on this photo is Johanna TG326 from Vágur in Suðuroy. It was built in 1884 in Rye Sussex in south England. The photo was taken from Tinganes towards the eastern harbour of Tórshavn.
Føroyskt: Myndin er tikin av Tinganesi á Ólavsøku 28. juli 2010, meðan kappróðurin var. Sluppin á myndini er Johanna TG326 úr Vági. Johanna TG326 varð bygd í Suðuronglandi í Rye Sussex í 1884, sama ár sum Westward Ho var bygd. Sluppin Johanna æt tá Oxfordshire. Sama morgun sum kappróðurin á Ólavsøku byrjaði komu føroysku træseglskipini til Havnar eftir at hava siglt runt um oyggjarnar í eini 4 dagar, ferðin endaði í Havnini.
