Deutsch: Johann Jacob Bodmer. Kopie im Gegensinn gemalt nach dem original Porträt von Anton Graff von 1781/82. Das Original ist ein Brustbild nach rechts. Vgl. Ekhart Berckenhagen: "Anton Graff - Leben und Werk", Deutscher Verlag für Kunstwissenschaft, Berlin, 1967, S. 66, Nr. 93 mit Abbildung des original Porträts. Dort ist auch die Rede von einer Kopie im Gleimhaus in Halberstadt. Öl auf Leinwand, 47,5 x 37,5 cm. Rückseite: "J. J. Bodmer / gem: / für / Gleim."
