Summary[edit]

Description
English: Johan Olsen is one of the few remaing boat builders in the Faroe Islands. His father and his grandfather were also boat builders. On this photo he is building a traditional Faroese wooden row boat, the size of the boat is 20 feet long. Johan Olsen has his work shop in the easthern part of Tvøroyri, which is one of the larger villages on Suðuroy, Faroe Islands. He is also a fisherman. One the boats which Johan Olsen has built is Naddoddur.
Dansk: Den færøske bådbygger Johan Olsen har bygget flere både, bl.a.
Her er hann í ferð við at byggja ein føroyskan træbát. Pápi hansara og abbi hansara vóru eisini bátabyggjarar. Johan Olsen hevur bygt fleiri bátar, m.a. hevur hann bygt bátin Naddoddur.
