Notes
InfoField
  • Title and date from item.
  • Gladstone's inventory number: CDV52.
  • An inscription on the back of the card indicates that both men are "on the left"; a note from the Gladstone inventory states "Rockwell standing on the woman's right"; however, a note from a researcher states [August 2013] that "it is my great-great grandfather, Jesse L. Berch, on the woman's right"; visual confirmation of this was provided by a bust portrait of Berch in the collections of the U.S. Army Military History Institute.
  • Purchase; William A. Gladstone; 1995; (PR 13 CN 1995:113)
  • General information about the Gladstone collection is available at, http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.pnp/pp.gld
