DescriptionJennison Guard Site.jpg |
English: Fields in the southeastern corner of Lawrenceburg Township, Dearborn County, Indiana, United States. In the distance is what remains of a substantial village of the Fort Ancient culture. Because of its archaeological value, the village site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Jennison Guard Site. Picture is taken from the northbound lanes of the Caroll C. Cropper Bridge, which carries Interstate 275 over the Ohio River. Obstructing the view of much of the field is the wall preventing motorists from driving off the edge of the bridge; due to the position of the wall, a better photograph is not possible, and the remoteness of the site prevents a photograph from any other location to which the public has legal access. |
