Русский: Это картина немецкого художника Якоба Филиппа Гаккерта «Бегство турецкого флота в бухту Чесма». Картина написана художником в 1772 году как часть общей его работы, посвященной Чесменской битве 5-7 июля 1770 года, состоявшейся в ходе русско-турецкой войны 1769-1774 гг. Картина написана специально для Чесменского зала Большого Петергофского дворца в 1772 году. Описание картины, составленное самим художником и обработанное В. Гёте: «Турки отступают в гавань с опущенными флагами. Корабль «Три Иерарха», на котором находился граф Орлов, дал сигнал к преследованию, подняв набольшой мачте пониже царского флага красный флаг с белым овалом посередине. Однако этот корабль и Ростислав ещё ведут бой, остальная часть флота преследует противника. Шлюпки, посланные спасать экипаж взорвавшегося корабля, возвращались и приближались к своим кораблям. На переднем плане представлен маленький островок, где находится турецкий пост. мешающий продвижению русских своим постоянным огнем. Они отвечают ему тем же, продолжая движение. Многие турки из команды взлетевшего на воздух корабля спасаются на этом острове» |
