English: Naval jacket- Colour Sergeant - Royal Marines Light Infantry uniform (pre-1923) Associated with Breckon family red jacket with white facing and navy collar and cuffs; seven buttons down front; waisted with brass belt hooks at sides; collar- stand-up collar, fastens with metal hooks and eyes, with black leather tag behind shoulder straps- navy with white facing; embroidered badge in white- globe inside laurel wreath; fastens with button near collar cuffs- three point cuffS, navy, with white facings, three buttons on each cuff skirt- back of skirt flaps with white facing and three buttons lining- fully lined- cream flannel inside body; white (silk) inside sleeves buttons- (brass)- crown and anchor inside circular band with ROYAL MARINES - LIGHT INFANTRY; laurel wreath around markings- marked inside jacket- black ink (stamped) CHAS BRECKON (and numbers)

Notes Royal Marines Light Infantry Regiment was first raised in 1664-1689 as the Lord Admiral's Maritime Regiment. The R.M.L.I. were in being from 1855-1923 and the R.M.A. from 1859 to 1923. In 1923 they were amalgamated to form the Corps of Royal Marines.
