Westphal receives a brief about how conventional and Army Special Operations Forces are training together for future battles at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC), Oct. 18, 2012, Fort Polk, La. In the foreground is a three dimensional map of a training area, which helps military leaders plan their defense and attacks. The purpose of Dr. Westphal's visit to the JRTC was to underscore the extensive capabilities and interdependence of combined operations between Army Conventional and Special Operations Forces as well as to highlight the vital role of the JRTC as the Army trains soldiers for current missions and prepares for future requirements. |
