Deutsch: Am Schluss des IC 2440 Leipzig Hbf–Emden, die Wagen sind nur leicht angepasste Regionalverkehrsdoppelstockwagen. Nur die Steuerwagen bieten bei einer Bahnsteighöhe von 550 mm einen stufenfreien Einstieg in den Unterstock. Die konstruktiv auf 200 km/h ausgelegten Wagen sollten ursprünglich für 185 km/h zugelasssen werden, doch aufgrund von Diskrepanzen zwischen dem Betreiber DB Fernverkehr und dem Eisenbahn-Bundesamt erfolgte nur eine Zulassung für 160 km/h. Zwischen Leipzig und Emden ist das (noch) vergleichsweise unschädlich, weil auf dieser Strecke nur kurze Abschnitte mehr als 160 km/h ermöglichen, trotzdem ist das eine ebenso schwache Leistung wie die Zulassung als Triebzüge ohne freizügige Nutzbarkeit von Wagen und Lokomotiven. Trotzdem sind die Fahrzeuge untereinander mit Schraubenkupplungen verbunden, obwohl sich Mittelpufferkupplungen mit Kontaktaufsätzen sehr angeboten hätten, die Wagenkästen konstruktiv dafür vorbereitet sind und die Laufsicherheit wie auch der Radsatzverschleiß profitieren. |
