Summary[edit]

Description Aloe arborescens—krantz aloe with backdrop of Aesculus californica—California buckeye, nearly 50' away, as if appears in its dormant state. "Krantz" is Afrikaans for "rocky cliff" and refer to this aloe's preferred habitat in rocky outcrops. The species is found in southeastern Africa from Zimbabwe south. A. arborescens has a documented use as an antibacterial for wound dressing. It is also available as a dietary supplement. Photographed in a private garden in Berkeley, CA
