Notes | In 1496 Boguslaus X of Pomerania decided to support emperor Maximilian against king of France, Charles VIII. In order to make necessary alliances, the Duke undertook the journey across Europe. In Rome he was received by the Pope Alexander VI Borgia, who presented him with a ceremonial sword. The sword is nowdays in the collection of the Hohenzollern Castle, while the scabbard was lost during World War II. |
