| Description |
English: It's all mud and water This mudbank is exposed at low tide. The water ebbs very quickly, exposing mud and a few rocks, but also flows back in very quickly. There was surprisingly more land here than I had expected, and probably more than shown on the 1:50K map. This was taken about 20 minutes before low water, and also about 20 minutes before sunset on a wet day. So I only walked out as far as necessary and wasn't going to hang around. The waves at the edge of the deeper section of Southampton Water can just be seen. In the background (left) is Fawley Power Station in SU4702, whilst the lights are at Fawley Oil Terminal centred on SU4504. |
