Iditarod. In Nome the colored lights brighten Front Street from Christmas through the end of the Iditarod. The Last Great Race begins on Saturday March 6th. The winner will pass under these colorful light on their way to the burled arch and race finish in Nome usually 9-11 days later. Join the National Park Service for a series of ranger programs and guest speakers during the week of March 15-20th.
