English: Iron grave Arabella Yate of Ashford Court.
She had a story, probably now lost, but as children we feared this place. There were dark tales of witchcraft, barely remembered, and even recently I have known children to leave offerings on the iron slab. Throughout rural England, folk tales and traditions are being lost as populations move. |
