Français : 6 SEPTEMBRE 1941 :

Le navire « Le Compiègne » quitte l'Indochine pour la métropole, le courrier est saisi par les britanniques le 3 novembre 1941 au large de Port Elisabeth (Afrique du Sud). Il n'y aura plus de bateau français partant d'Indochine qui réussira à arriver en métropole avant octobre/novembre 1945.

A partir de cette date, le seul transport restant par voie de surface est le transsibérien et quelques navires neutres. Le courrier dans une première période sera gardé puis, après Pearl Harbor, refoulé avec une griffe 45 x 8 mm « Retour à l'envoyeur / Service suspendu».

Carte interzone au type 2, sans signature sous la vignette avec griffe de retour de Sài-Gòn car la carte a été postée le 6 octobre 1941 après le départ du dernier bateau pour la métropole. Le déclenchement de la guerre du Pacifique éloigne tout espoir d'un nouveau bateau dans un avenir proche.
