Description
English: The Indian Navy Swarnim Vijay Abhiyan motorcycle expedition, undertaken as part of Swarnim Vijay Varsh and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, culminated at National War Memorial, New Delhi on 03 October 2021. A distance of over 6,000 km was traveled by the bikers through Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh during the trip. The expedition had 11 motorbikes and two support vehicles and commenced at Karwar on 06 September 2021. Over 50 naval personnel participated in its multiple legs. On culmination of the expedition at New Delhi, the riders were felicitated at National War Memorial by Rear Admiral Vikram Menon, ACNS (Air). As part of the activity, the riders visited various establishments of Indian Armed Forces including launch pads of 1971 campaign on the Western front and interact with the personnel. Enroute, they paid homage to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru at National Martyrs Memorial, Hussainiwala and INS Khukhri Memorial at Diu, and also visited the Statue of Unity at Kevadia. They also interacted with cadets at NDA, Sainik Schools at Satara, Balachadi, Kapurthala and Kunjpura, and the Rashtriya Military School at Chail.
