Description A graph made in Excel 2007 showing the incarceration rate in the United States from 1985, 1990 - 2008. The incarceration rate is defined as the total number of inmates held in custody of state or federal prisons or local jails per 100,000 U.S. residents.p16. It was made using data provided by the Bureau of Justice Statistics.
