Summary[edit]

Description
English: This is the first picture of the Japanese Imperial Family to be published in the United States. The Emperor Meiji (1) stands with his wife Empress Shōken (3), and his heir Crown Prince Yoshihito (2). Crown Princess Sadako Kujō (4) is also present, as are her two eldest sons Hirohito (9) and Yasuhito (8). (5), (6), (7), and (10) are Emperor Meiji's daughters Masako, Fusako, Nobuko, and Toshiko (not necessarily in that order).
