Drei Standen Rast, dann Aufbruch nach Gabella! Wir befinden uns hier in einer der historisch interessantesten Gegenden.Schon als die alten Griechen diese Rüsten kolonisirten, als sie Epidaurusgegründet, richteten sie ihre blicke auf die Mündungen des Naron (Narenta),die allein einen bequemen Eingang ins Hinterland ermöglichten, wahrendsonst überall hohe Bergketten das Ueberschreiten ermöglichten. Die Römer,wussten trotzdem die Wichtigkeit der Narenta zu schätzen und es er-scheint in der Geschichte die grosse Römerstadt Narona, oberhalb desFlussdeltas gelegen, die heute in den Sümpfen von Vido versunken ist.Im Mittelal
