Description
English: The German Emperor at Malta: A naval inspection ashore

"During the Kaiser's visit to Malta, his Majesty witnessed a field gun display and gymnastic exercises by bluejackets on the naval parade ground. Our illustration shows the field gun being dragged past his Majesty at the double. The Kaiser afterwards lunched at Admiralty House with Sir Compton Domville afterwards paying a visit to the officer's mess of the Artillery and Engineers. A tea-party was given in the afternoon on board the "Hohenzollern" at which the Governor, the Admiral, the naval, military and staff officials, and a number of ladies were present. The Emperor dined with Sir Compton on board the "Bulwark" and subsequently attended a reception"
