Português: Igreja do Carmo - Foi construída em 1580 como Capela de Santo Antônio e São Gonçalo. Com a chegada do carmelitas em 1581, iniciou-se a construção das novas instalações, as mais antigas da Ordem dos Carmelita das Américas. Possuía o maior sino da cidade, que em 1630 foi retirado e transformado em armamento pelas tropas holandesas. Nesta época, os flamengos obrigaram os frades a abandonarem a igreja e o convento que já estava em fase de conclusão.
Em 1720, graças aos esforços dos portugueses, o edifício foi reconstruído. Sua modulação obedeceu ao estilo barroco da época. O altar-mor possui três nichos: o mor, com a imagem da padroeira em estilo barroco e as laterais, dedicados aos santos fundadores da Ordem dos Carmelitas (Santo Elias e Santo Eliseu). Além das belas cadeiras usadas pelo coral, existem vários quadros a óleo sobre madeira, pintados pelos frades, que representam uma boa mostra dos trabalhos feitos pelos religiosos da época. Na frente da Igreja do Carmo, pode-se ver o terceiro cruzeiro existente na Primeira Capital Brasileira da Cultura. O monumento passou por uma restauração completa, e foi reaberto no dia 04 de agosto de 2012.
