| Description |
English: Taboche and Khumbu Valley in the 1950s Taboche peak (6367m) as seen by Erwin Schneider from the east. The photo was taken from above the Nangkartshung mnastery. Taboche, and its neighbour Jobo Laptsan (6440 m, centre, the moutain that looks as though it is bent and pointing north), preside over the lower Khumbu valley. At their base is the path to Everest base camp. Tsholo Tso is a moraine dammed lake at the foot of Jobo Laptsan. The moraine ,seen as a white glacial-like feature, is blocking the lake. Deutsch: Taboche und Khumbu Tal in den 50er-Jahren Taboche (6367 m), von Osten gesehen. Dieses Bild wurde von einer Stelle über dem Nangkartshung Kloster aufgenommen. Taboche und sein benachbarter Berg Jobo Laptsan (6440 m - der Berg in der Mitte, der aussieht als würde er sich gen Norden verneigen) walten über das Khumbutal. Der Pfad zum Everest Basislager liegt unter diesen Giganten. Tsholo Tso ist ein Stausee in einer Moräne am Fusse des Jobo Laptsan. Die Moräne, die aussieht wie eine weisse gletscherartige Erscheinung, blockiert den Stausee. Français : Taboche et la vallée du Khumbu dans les années 50 Le pic de Taboche (6367 mètres) vu de l'est. A leurs pieds, le chemin menant au camp de base de l'Everest. Au pied du Jobo Lapstan, le lac du Tsholo Tso est entouré par une moraine. |
