VT = True wind speed
VB = Boat speed
VA = Apparent wind speed
FT = Force on sail tangential to sail cord (lift component)
FR = Driving force component
FLAT = Lateral component
Note that as the iceboat sails further from the wind, the apparent wind becomes increases slightly and the boat speed is highest on the broad reach.
