Function/description: To identify equipment which is suitable for the use in the subtropics.[]For new applications, the use of this symbol is deprecated and IEC 60417-6332 shall be used.
Additional information:

  • Equipment is suited for use in the subtropics in accordance with ISO 5155 if the required storage temperature is maintained at an ambient temperature between +18º C and +38º C
  • [The second paragraph was added on 2015-06-13 because of:;ISO 5155 was withdrawn and replaced by ISO 15502 and this was replaced by IEC 62552 and this in turn has been replaced by the IEC 62552 series.;None of these standards nor IEC 60335-2-24 use symbols IEC 60417-5785 (2002-10-07) or IEC 60417-5786 (2002-10-07). They use a letter to indicate the climate class.]
