Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Schematic of the assembly of a I53-50 nanoparticle, a type of self-assembling protein nanoparticle designed to serve as a recombinant subunit vaccine. Three antigens form trimers (blue) that are linked to the equally trimeric building block I53-50A (grey). A I53-50 nanoparticle assembles in vitro from 20 of these antigen-I53-50A trimers and 12 I53-50B pentamers (orange). Each nanoparticle thus displays a total of 60 copies of each subunit.
