the fiacre,drawn by two fiery Hungarian horses, you willbe struck by the imposing buildings situatedamongst lovely boulevards, squares and streets,that can bear comparison with those of Parisor of any city in the world, and you-willbe surprised to see that there are quite astempting shops as in the French capital, andthat the traffic is as great as that of Vienna.But in order to form an idea of the agreeablelife of the city, and to see its various interest-ing features, one must remain there a few days.The great charm of the place is its variety.On the terrace of a restaurant facing theDanube, you can have a kingly dinner for twoshillings, and the characteristically wild musicof the Hungarian bands, which are neithercalled /Red nor Blue, but simply Czigdnys (Gipsies) will prove a good di-gestive agency. There are capital theatres,the National Theatre, which has thestrongest cast, and is maintained by theGovernment, and also the ^^ Nép Színház^(Peoples theatre), where only Hungarian
