Bahasa Indonesia: Festival Tabuik merupakan salah satu tradisi tahunan di dalam masyarakat Pariaman. Festival ini telah berlangsung sejak puluhan tahun lalu dan diperkirakan telah ada sejak abad ke-19 masehi. Perhelatan tabuik merupakan bagian dari peringatan hari wafatnya cucu Nabi Muhammad SAW, yaitu Hussein bin Ali yang jatuh pada tanggal 10 Muharram.
Rangkaian tradisi tabuik di Pariaman terdiri dari tujuh tahapan ritual tabuik, yaitu mengambil tanah, menebang batang pisang, mataam, mengarak jari-jari, mengarak sorban, tabuik naik pangkek, hoyak tabuik, dan membuang tabuik ke laut. Prosesi mengambil tanah dilaksanakan pada 1 Muharram. Menebang batang pisang dilaksanakan pada hari ke-5 Muharram. Mataam pada hari ke-7, dilanjutkan dengan mangarak jari-jari pada malam harinya. Pada keesokan harinya dilangsungkan ritual mangarak saroban. Pada hari puncak, dilakukan ritual tabuik naik pangkek, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan hoyak tabuik. Tabuik Naik Pangkek sendiri memiliki makna persatuan. Prosesi ini seperti melambangkan kesatuan walaupun terdiri dari bermacam suku, bahasa, agama, keturunan tetapi tetap satu kesatuan. Hari puncak ini dahulu jatuh pada tanggal 10 Muharram, tetapi saat ini setiap tahunnya berubah-ubah antara 10-15 Muharram, biasanya disesuaikan dengan akhir pekan. Sebagai ritual penutup, menjelang maghrib tabuik diarak menuju pantai dan dilarung ke laut. Mulai tahun 1982, perayaan tabuik dijadikan bagian dari kalender pariwisata Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Karena itu terjadi berbagai penyesuaian salah satunya dalam hal waktu pelaksanaan acara puncak dari rangkaian ritual tabuik ini. Jadi, meskipun prosesi ritual awal tabuik tetap dimulai pada tanggal 1 Muharram, saat perayaan tahun baru Islam, tetapi pelaksanaan acara puncak dari tahun ke tahun berubah-ubah, tidak lagi harus pada tanggal 10 Muharram.English: Tabuik Festival is one of the annual traditions in Pariaman society. This festival has been going on for decades and is thought to have existed since the 19th century AD. The tabuik event is part of the commemoration of the day of the death of the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, namely Hussein bin Ali, which fell on the 10th of Muharram.
The series of tabuik traditions in Pariaman consists of seven stages of tabuik ritual, namely "mengambil tanah" (taking soil), "manabang batang pisang" (cutting down banana stems), mataam, parading the fingers, parading turban, tabuik riding on the lap, breaking tabuik, and throwing tabuik into the sea. The procession of "mengambil tanah" (taking soil) was carried out at 1 Muharram. "Manabang batang pisang" (Cutting banana stems) is carried out on the 5th day of Muharram. Mataam on the 7th day, continued with the fingers radiating at night. The next day the mangarak saroban ritual was held. On the peak day, the tabuik ritual is "tabuik naik pangkek"(the process of connecting the tabuik section to a whole unit by Nagari Pasa and Subarang), then continued with hoyak tabuik. Tabuik Naik Pangkek itself has the meaning of unity. This procession is like symbolizing unity even though it consists of various tribes, languages, religions, descendants but still a unity. This peak day first fell on the 10th of Muharram, but currently changes every year between 10-15 Muharram, usually adjusted to the weekend. As a closing ritual, before the Maghrib Tabuik is paraded towards the beach and floated into the sea Starting in 1982, the Tabuik celebration was made part of the Padang Pariaman Regency tourism calendar. Because of this, various adjustments occurred, one of which was in terms of the time of the peak event of this tabuik ritual series. So, although the procession of Tabuik's initial rituals continued on the 1st of Muharram, during the Islamic New Year celebrations, the implementation of the peak event from year to year changed, no longer had to be on the 10th of Muharram |
