Français : La Mort de Marie de Clèves, femme de Henri Ier, prince de Condé, aquarelle exposée à Paris au Salon de 1835 (numéro 1040 du livret) avec l'explication suivante : "Catherine de Médicis craignant l’ascendant que la belle Marie avait pris sur Henri III, prit si bien ses mesures, que Marie mourut presque subitement le 30 octobre 1574, à dix-huit ans et dans tout l’éclat de sa beauté."
