Summary[edit]

Description Horrified visitors read the many printouts placed at the site by an atom bomb survivor. This is in the grounds of the Peace Memorial Park, built at the site of the Hiroshima atom bomb explosion, courtesy the USA. These printouts are not part of the park or the exhibits in the adjoining museum, but rather a collection of facts and pictures (in the form of computer printouts) by a survivor of the atom bomb. The Aug. 6, 1945, atomic bombing killed an estimated 140,000 and injured many more who would become known as hibakusha — survivors who to this day still suffer from the fallout of the attack. A second bomb dropped on Nagasaki on Aug. 9 killed an estimated 74,000. I did not look too closely at this collection as there were far too many people reading the printouts and there was quite a crowd around there. The actual bomb survivor did not appear to be physically present at that time. (Hiroshima,Japan, Apr/ May 2019)
