English:

A low growing spiny mat with white flowers. At least four are open with another five or so in the process of opening. The flowers are five-petaled with bright yellow stamens in the middle.

Also known as spiny phlox. It grows in dense mats. It can be difficult to distinguish between it, many-flowered phlox, and moss phlox, but Hood's phlox is the most common.
