English: Holy Well of St. Mary the Virgin. Standing in the south-east corner of this grid square, south of the Parish church of St Mary and All Saints is this covered well. The ancient well has been attributed powers of healing the eye and visions of the Saint are said to have appeared there to those who sought relief in times gone by. |
