Summary

[edit]
Description

New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Lower 9th Ward, "Holy Cross" section (least severely damaged part of the badly flooded Lower 9th): House in recently reopened section of the city (though officially only for look & leave, not reoccupation) has "WE R BACK" painted on it; also note from animal rescue about "dog under house" with "under house" crossed out. Teams usually left food for animals they could not lure to come with them. None the less, when I walked by the dog seen in the yard was growling while retreating and acting as if it had little human contact for some time.
