| Description |
Deutsch: Möllerdenkmal am Klippchen im Hagener Stadtteil Hohenlimburg-Elsey, Burgweg. Ein Wahrzeichen von Hohenlimburg und eines der ältesten Denkmäler in der Region. Es wurde zu Ehren des bedeutsamen Elseyer Pfarrers, Politikers und Heimatforschers Johann Friedrich Möller (1750–1807), einem der wichtigsten Vertreter der Aufklärung in Westfalen, errichtet. Nach einem Entwurf des Architekten Wilhelm Tappe wurde das Denkmal am 7. Mai 1814 eingeweiht. Vor 1930 wurde das Denkmal und sein Standort umfassend verändert. In den 1950er Jahren ersetzte eine Schrifttafel aus Messing die verwitterte Widmung auf der Säule; zuletzt wurde das Denkmal 1995 restauriert. Die Inschrift auf der Tafel lautet: „DEM FREUNDE DES VATERLANDES UND DER MENSCHEN, DEM WEISEN, DEM VEREHRTEN PFARRER VON ELSEY JOHANN FRIEDRICH MÖLLER 1750–1807“. |
