English: The Hjortspring boat is a vessel designed as a large canoe, from the Scandinavian Pre-Roman Iron Age, that was excavated in 1921–1922 in Hjortspring Mose at Als in Sønderjylland. It was a clinker-built wooden boat 21 m long (outer length), 13 m long inside and 2 m wide with space for a crew of 22–23 men who propelled the boat with paddles: it was built around 300-400 BC. Dansk: Hjortspringsbåden' er et træskib fra jernalderen. Den blev fundet i Hjortspring Mose på Nordals i 1921. Båden, der stammer fra cirka 350 før Kristus, var en del af et stort våbenoffer i selve mosen. Båden, der er en krigskano, som kunne bære 24 mand med våben og andet grej, har en længde på 19 meter og en vægt på på 530 kilo (http://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hjortspringsbåden) |
